1965: Creation of Limagrain

Exactly 60 years ago, in 1965, a group of seed growers from Auvergne created Limagrain.

Since its beginnings, our cooperative has evolved and innovated, positioning itself as a major global player in the seed and agri-food sectors.

1970: LG11

In 1970, Limagrain launched its first hybrid corn variety, marking the start of an agricultural revolution. Not only did thislaunch transform agricultural practices, it also paved the way for innovation in seed breeding.

Thanks to this breakthrough, Limagrain was able to offer farmers more resistant varieties, optimizing yields and meeting the growing needs of food production.

Since then, research and development have continued to play a key role in the company's evolution, consolidating it as a world leader in the seed and agri-food sectors.
